Celebrations are in the air! We began the year celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Columbia Studios. April begins our celebration of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, “the world’s greatest backlot” especially if you grew up in CC!! During 2024, we will also celebrate the 100th Birthday of Harry Culver’s Skyscraper, our beloved Culver Hotel, which opened on September 4th,1924.
We also celebrate YOU! Your support and donations to the Society are the reason, we are growing leaps and bounds. For the past year we have seen a nice steady flow of renewed memberships, new members, and our programs have been very well attended. Your contributions have allowed us to purchase a much-needed computer and the supplies to archive the collection, protecting it for years to come. The collection grows every week. Your generosity has not been overlooked. Every week we get to do what we do because of you.
We are grateful to work with our eager Culver High students, who volunteer with us each Friday. They have such a fresh perspective, great ideas, and a lot of enthusiasm.
Doing a little spring cleaning? The items in the museum collection are 100% donated. We hope you think of us if you should come across anything CULVER CITY related.
Do you enjoy a good walk and love our downtown? Become a docent! We provided many tours this past year, to various organizations. It’s a great way to share about our historic little town.
Maureen created a wonderful display celebrating Black History Month, which we hope you enjoyed. We are very excited about our upcoming program! Stop in and see what Maureen has created this month, with additional items Dennis and Valerie have put together to help us celebrate MGM.
Lastly, we celebrate our team! Exceptional, dedicated volunteers, who without them, this organization would cease to exist… Thank you everyone!
