Happy Summer to you all! What a great spring your Society and Culver City as a whole have had!! Dennis (Dad) gave us an amazing program celebrating Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The Multipurpose room was filled with Society members, local residents, MGM enthusiasts, Notable Hollywood Authors, Child Star Cora Sue Collins, and our Beloved June Caldwell, who will celebrate her 100th birthday this year. June may be one of the last people to have worked with Eddie Mannix & Louis B. Mayer and she can still rivet us with stories. Mark Morris recorded this event which can be viewed on our YouTube channel. It already has over 3000 views. But how can you go wrong when Steve Bingen, Stephen Sylvester and Richard Adkins share their knowledge about MGM? Not to mention our January Program that Marc Wanamaker shared about “Poverty Row” currently has over 12,000 views. Well, if you missed either of these programs please visit: “MGM 100th birthday and Poverty Row” on our YouTube.

Thank you, David Pelayo, Steve Newton, and Dennis Parrish for items loaned from your personal MGM collection. Museum Chair Maureen Fleming topped it off with so many fun MGM highlights!!

We collaborated with Hollywood Heritage Museum, sharing from our collections. We loaned 3 of our MGM costumes to add to their spectacular MGM exhibit. We are truly grateful for all the advice and help from Angie Schneider, Darin Barnes, and the Hollywood Heritage team. We gained visibility, met dozens of cinema collectors, authors and new friends due to this new partnership. Thank you.

On a bittersweet note, Eve Mott and Maren Brown, our CCHS interns are off to college! But before they go, they will present our next program celebrating our Culver Hotel’s 100th Birthday! The ladies have been working with Dennis and Milena Alunni. Dennis is thrilled, Eve and Maren will be our first students to present a program.

We constantly grow, and it’s because of all of you!
